Al Akhaweyeh Al Mariameyeh has been an integral part of our Catholic culture in the Middle East, the land of Mary, for many years. Known at one time by The Army of Mary throughout the land. A movement that took on a form of spirituality to love, respect, honor, and adore the mother of Jesus in the hearts and minds of all faithful.

As many of the Middle Eastern Catholics migrated to the USA, the love for Mary continued and the Al Akhaweyeh Al Mariameyeh remained in the hearts of all. The Al Akhaweyeh became a formal group under the presiding priest, Msgr Labib Kobuti. We must remember and appreciate how Al Akhaweyeh was really formed. It began in 1995 by the late Josephine Ennabi (Oum Feras) at her home. Al Akhaweyeh expanded, thereafter, as many more members joined. Events and activities then were held at various parish members' homes. An amazing resemblance to how/where Jesus met with his disciples.

Today the Al Akhaweyeh has over 75 active parish and non-parish members. The Al Akhaweyeh always welcomes new members, especially the teens, to share the love of Mary. To join the group or attend any of their "1st Friday of the month" gatherings, please reach out to Bernadette for further information. She loves to hear from you.

The group meets every 1st Friday of the month, as reflected on the Church public calendar. On a typical 1st Friday of the month, the group meets at 11:30 am and begin with a rosary prayer, followed by a mass held at the Chapel, in Mgsr Labibi Center, in the Arabic Language officiated by the presiding priest. After the mass, the team meets at the Center to share a meal and discuss the ongoing activities and future events.
